We had Construction Solutions redesign the interior of our house to add a bathroom, turn an existing bathroom into a master bath, create a door through our beautiful wood paneled living room, add a large entry closet and create custom, built in bookshelves while keeping with the historic integrity of the original design. This job involved precision deconstruction of knotty pine walls, wood flooring, lead abatement, redesign of existing floor plan, moving of walls extensive electrical, plumbing and millwork. From the first meeting with the owner we knew he was the right person for the job. His extensive knowledge, openness to our ideas and calm demeanor put us at ease throughout the entire process. The owner and his Architect, helped us to come up with a brilliant design for our project. They spent endless hours creating the design and helping us find tiles, and fixtures that were perfect for our english style cottage. Construction Solution's build plan, and budget were clear and honest. Once building began, the owner was here nearly every day through the process, including on weekends. He was proactive and responsive to any surprises that may have occurred in our quirky home. He was fast to find solutions to any problems that arose, and did not charge us extra for them. The plumbers, electricians, painters, tiler and millworker that they used for the job were all outstanding and left the house each day clean and clear of construction materials. When the workers arrived they often stayed late to finish the job they were working on. Because of this, and excellent coordination and presence, the full job was completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule (which is pretty much unheard of in the business)! The final result was absolutely beautiful. The work is high quality and we are so happy with how the entire process went. We plan on using Construction Solutions for any further work we do on our houses and we recommend them without hesitation to anyone who needs to do work on their homes. T M
Remodeling and repair of the master bathroom and water damaged ceiling in the family room and kitchen. Complete remodeling of the bathroom including custom vanity, glass and slate shower stall, ceramic flooring, removal of wall and new lighting and fan arrangements. Repair to dinette drywall was accompanied by crown molding and painting of the family room ceiling and the kitchen. The owner has exceptional communications skills and is responsive to the customer. He is an excellent general contractor with attention to detail and effective planning. His subcontractors are exceptionally good and appropriate to the job. The project scheduling was flawless and there was only one minor glitch. He included an architect who made a number of wonderful suggestions and guided us through many choices. While the architect's suggestions increased the scope we are thrilled with the result. While the increased scope added cost, the original customer selected materials budget was maintained. The painting was done with craftsmanship and in a timely manner. A very experienced tile and ceramics team did a flawless and artistic job on the slate shower and ceramic floor. The carpentry was done by an outstanding millworker who worked with the architect's concept to do an attractive and useful custom vanity and doorway framing. The electricians did masterwork with careful attention to codes. The master plumber was well versed in codes and able to work with the architect to make the design meet code and to please us. All work was done in a timely fashion and they were willing to attend to other small household projects at the same time. FW
Complete kitchen remodel. Sinks, tile back splash, appliances, cabinets, countertops and lighting. The owner came out gave an estimate he was prompt, friendly and professional. They started the work when we had all the appliances. They had it finished in nine days. They worked over the weekend to complete the project. The owner and his crews were here everyday. He was extremely thorough with everything. The carpenter was very detailed oriented. He was a great craftsman. The tile and granite sub-contractors were particularly good. Excellent experience and we will use their service in the future. LD
My house had a flood. He came quickly that night to do the drywall, put down wooden floors. Upstairs was ruined. He repaired the bathroom. He painted the downstairs basement living area. Fixed doors that were damaged. Did tile work. They also put up the overhead vent. He did a beautiful job, and kept me up to date with everything. One carpet didn't work out, so he brought another one right away so I could pick. He did a wonderful job, and I would use him again. LB

The owner came to go over entire job, which had very short turn around, and set up schedule. Electricians arrived on time, installed all fixtures, checking all details with me to ensure proper installation, completed job, cleaned up afterwards and checked with me to make sure everything was installed as I wanted and went over operation as necessary.
Painter fixed ceilings in all three locations and re-painted. It is impossible to tell that anything was EVER repaired, the job is so flawless. He even offered to clean the chandelier in the vaulted stairwell while he had a ladder up there!! After cleaning up it was impossible to tell anyone had been in my house. It is by far the best experience I have ever had with anyone doing work on the inside or outside of my home. Every person was polite, friendly, a perfectionist at their craft and the owner kept in regular contact to make sure everything was going as promised. -Elizabeth M.

I had hired a company to install a stone patio at the back of my 28-year-old house. In removing the deck, patio workmen discovered that much of the bandboard had suffered wood rot and ant damage. I called a couple of firms in northern Virginia but most were hesitant, saying they probably weren't up to the job, especially if the rot had reached the joists which would require jacking up the house and major repairs. In the end, I called and spoke with Construction Solutions. He immediately put me at ease, understood my dilemma (delaying the patio installers) and came over to inspect the damage himself the same day. It was amazing customer service, and he was just as pleasant in person as he was on the phone. No hard seller, he patiently explained the technical issues and pros and cons on repairs.
He checked out the joists and they weren't rotted, so he made repairs to the bandboard in the back. They built the trim up from the bottom, attached molding and it looks great. Even better, they were able to do the repairs for less than the estimate and the patio project resumed with only a very slight delay. Three cheers for Construction Solutions -- they really came through in a pinch! -WILLIAM F.
The owner was very professional and responsive via phone and email. He stopped by periodically while the work was being performed to check on the progress. The men who accomplished the work were courteous, skillful, and attentive to detail. This work was the first phase of a more extensive basement renovation, and I now plan to hire Construction Solutions for the next phase. -Carol R.
The ceiling of my bathroom had been ruined by water damage coming down from the upstairs condo unit. I was also experiencing mildew at the base of the wall near the shower door. I had a very bad experience with the contractor hired by the upstairs unit owner. The contractor wouldn't give me the time of day nor did he assess the water damage. Construction Solutions came in and did a thorough assessment of the water damage, even taking pictures into the ceiling. He also determined that the mildew at the base of the wall was due to poor caulking around the shower door, and not from behind the wall itself. By re-caulking and patching that mildew spot he saved me thousands of dollars over the other contractor, who wanted to re-tile the entire shower and replace the walls. I also hired Construction Solutions to replace the ceiling from the upstairs water damage and remove/install a new bathroom light/fan. They did a beautiful job on the ceiling and the caulking.
I also hired them to strip the wallpaper and paint. It looks great! One of the things I liked best was the crew's thoroughness of evaluating how best to get the job done. They also did a great job of getting his team out quickly. I didn't have to deal with cancelled appointments, no-shows, or tardiness. His guys came when I expected them. And all of his guys worked really hard, taking pride in their work. -Joy S.
I got to see the new carpet Thursday evening (and the new shutters too). Everything looks great and I couldn't smell any mold. It's too bad we didn't get to enjoy the carpet ourselves. The tile by the sliding door is a big improvment. Chris (one of our tenants) said your installers were very professional and even lended a hand when one of his cats got into the basement while they were working. And I want to thank you for getting a crew in their as quickly as you did - just under a week from my initial call to you.
